Screwless single-part assembly mini drone with optical flow sensor and touch sensor modules
At the extreme end of weight saving, fasteners, such as metal screws, should be used sparingly. But is it possible to create an entirely fastener-less quadcopter frame? Harnessing the unique abilities of 3D printing with compliant mechanisms, I designed a drone frame that can be manufactured as a single part, and assembled without any screws. Additional modules, such as the battery mounts and contact sensors, can also add the necessary structural rigidity to improve flight stability.
